VEGANUARY; NOW WE CAN ALL FEEL GOOD ABOUT A VEGAN LIFESTYLE
Let’s face it, the build up to Christmas is always about excesses, and we almost all get caught up in it, every year. Overspending, overeating, general overindulging all seem to be the acceptable way to end the year. So, in more than one way it’s perhaps a good thing that Veganuary has come to the rescue, just to help us regain a sense of proportion, and lose some of the body fat that the festive season has introduced.
Since its inception in 2014, Veganuary has exploded to become a start-of-year tonic to get us back on the straight and narrow. Now in its 8th year, Veganuary has grown to be more than just a month-long feast of vegetarian fare. And the good thing is that now includes many different aspects of a healthy lifestyle and vegan living. Veganuary embraces a growing catalogue of vegan products and celebrates the vegan lifestyle in its entirety. Veganism isn’t just about what we eat any more, but has grown to embrace any product that we use, be it food, clothing, make-up or skincare. Just as well then, that Hawkins & Brimble have been developing a range of vegan hair and skincare products, so you can be part of Veganuary.
We have worked hard to be a part of the ‘do no harm’ movement, and have constantly strived to include vegan products within our ranges. Hawkins and Brimble see veganism as a growing part of the lifestyle of a increasing consumer-base and our aim is to be firmly a part of that. But vegan hair and skin products are not just a fad, and have credible reasons behind them, such as:
- More relevant ingredients. Vegan hair products are enriched with plant-based compounds and natural vitamins and minerals that moisturise the scalp and promote hair development, and vegan skincare products hydrate the face without stripping it of its natural oils.
- Vegan products don’t have adverse effects on the hair and skin. Because the ingredients are natural, they work with the body and promote healthy growth and natural healing. Non-vegan ingredients such as Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) have been shown to actually promote hair loss as well as striping skin of its natural protective oils.
- Better feel and smell. Vegan products - because they use only natural products in their basis – invariably make hair and skin cleaner, and make them look feel, and smell better than products with a stack of chemicals in them.
Aside from those very compelling reasons, vegan products obviously don’t include anything - either in the product itself or the packaging - that is harmful to animals, plants (apart from those that have been mashed up to make the product, obviously), or the environment, so you can use them without feeling guilty.
The Hawkins & Brimble range of vegan products currently includes beard oil, face wash, body wash, and eye creams, and is growing to embrace almost everything we make. Hell, even our walnut comb is vegan and kind to the planet.
We at Hawkins & Brimble can see the benefits of vegan products and are committed to making as many of our lines as possible both vegan and sustainable, and see annual events such as Veganuary as being something to become increasingly involved in. Keep checking back to our website and keep up with our expanding range of vegan products.
